Atlanta Falcons: Top 5 Rookies Heading Into Camp
By John Buhler
The world is yours for the taking here in Flowery Branch, Vic Beasley. You can become the Obi-Wan Kenobi for the Atlanta Falcons’ pass rush. You have the chance to become a superstar playing for your hometown team. All you have to do is work hard and do what Coach Quinn asks out of you at the LEO.
I want Vic Beasley to out-sack his draft position in 2015. Even as a likely situational pass rusher as a rookie, getting more than 8 quarterback sacks seems possible for the former Clemson All-American.

If Atlanta can start putting opposing quarterbacks on their backs this fall, it could jumpstart a rapid turnaround and the Falcons could find themselves back in the playoffs. Though I don’t expect Vic Beasley to do it alone as a rookie in 2015, I bet he records 1/3 of the QB sacks for the Dirty Birds this fall.
In addition to getting after the passer, I want to see Vic learn and grow in run stoppage so that he can become that highly coveted every-down pass rusher. That will be a crucial next step in Beasley’s game where he could go from good to great.
Overall, I’m so excited to all of our rookies contribute in any capacity with the team this fall. If all five of these rookies buy into what Dan Quinn and Kyle Shanahan are preaching, the Atlanta Falcons could have the building blocks for a Super Bowl contender the first couple of seasons in New Atlanta Stadium.
