The Atlanta Falcons have looked much improved on the defensive side of the ball in the first two weeks of the preseason. I know it’s only been two weeks on NFL Preseason, but I feel that our Atlanta Falcons are on the verge of something special in 2015 under first year Head Coach Dan Quinn.

The Dirty Birds have showcased a pass rush against both the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets that Rise Up Nation hasn’t seen since arguably when DE Patrick Kerney starred for us during the Jim Mora Era in Atlanta.  Players like Jonathan Babineaux, Stansly Maponga, and Tyson Jackson are playing inspired football up front for Quinn in the pass rush.  Hopefully all their hard work put in this offseason pays off in a big way for the Atlanta Falcons.

More from Atlanta Falcons

Under new Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan, QB Matt Ryan has seemingly executed the offense to perfection in his first three series under center in Shanahan’s new system.  Matt Ryan has only thrown one incomplete pass during his first three preseason drives, all ending in touchdowns for the Atlanta Falcons.  Now if only the running game could stay healthy and contribute on offense…

The special teams for our Falcons look incredible with Devin Hester in the return game, Eric Weems not letting returners go anywhere on coverage, Matt Bryant having no issues driving kicks through the uprights, and Matt Bosher booming punts with tremendous length and hangtime.

It’s too early to tell but our Atlanta Falcons look pretty good with regards to the first team in all three phases.  Let’s see how the Dirty Birds stack up against the rest of the NFC in a Preseason Week 3 Power Rankings.
