Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch Vs. Ravens
By John Buhler
If you’ve watched all three preseason games of the Atlanta Falcons, you probably noticed how hard LB Allen Bradford hits on special teams. Special Teams Coordinator Keith Armstrong has to like Bradford’s playmaking ability in the third phase of the game in coverage packages.
Bradford has done well in the second unit as a linebacker for our Atlanta Falcons. His play has stood out among other key reserves in the Falcons LB corps. The unit as a whole looks vastly improved thanks to scheme fit and the strong coaching of both DC Richard Smith and LB Coach Jeff Ulbrich.

While I do believe that Allen Bradford makes the 53-man roster due to his strong play in the first three preseason games, one more solid performance should all but lock up a spot for the veteran linebacker and former USC Trojan.
Often times roster spots come down to who guys perform on special teams. Casual fans fail to realize the third phase of the games’ importance, questioning “Why is this guy on the team?”. Allen Bradford has looked better than most defenders in the second and third units with his strong tackling and ability to get after the ball.
HC Dan Quinn emphasizes tackling way more than Coach Smith did towards the end of his tenure in Atlanta. I have to believe that letting Allen Bradford walk would be a bad decision for the Atlanta Falcons front office to make. To me, he’s already earned a roster spot and let tomorrow night’s game reaffirm that sentiment.
