Atlanta Falcons: 5 Things Learned From Week 2
By John Buhler
This Team Doesn’t Quit
This echoes the sentiment of Atlanta being a 4th Quarter team. However, if the Atlanta Falcons quit on that late 3rd Quarter red zone possession of the New York Giants, Atlanta would have been too far out of reach to mount a 4th Quarter comeback.

Atlanta was not able to get after New York QB Eli Manning most of the afternoon, but getting him to cough up the football in the red zone instantly changed the momentum of the football game. Instead of being down 27-10 entering the 4th Quarter, Atlanta had the ball and made it 20-17 early in the 4th.
In years past, we’ve seen the Atlanta Falcons surrender significant leads in the latter part of games. This does not seem the case in the Dan Quinn Era of this team. We’re looking at a team that feels like no deficit is insurmountable instead of a team knowing that no lead is safe.
The team is playing with great poise in the first part of the season. I know it’s early but the 2015 Atlanta Falcons are showing the composure necessary to win in January, possibly on the road. The players know it isn’t how you start, but how you finish. When a team never quits, you know your team is always in it.
