Atlanta Falcons: NFC Power Rankings, Week 3

The Atlanta Falcons are one of a few teams in the NFC that have looked good in both Week 1 and Week 2. Atlanta (2-0) will travel to Arlington to face fellow undefeated, the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.

Perhaps it’s parity across the league, but I didn’t feel that the NFC had a great week as a conference in Week 2. Only five teams remain undefeated in the NFC and it’s incredibly tough to sift between the good, the bad and the ugly in the conference.

However, our Atlanta Falcons are one of the teams that have won both of their first two regular season games of 2015, knocking off the Philadelphia Eagles 26-24 on Monday Night Football in Week 1 and topping the New York Football Giants in MetLife Stadium 24-20 on Sunday.

More from Atlanta Falcons

This year’s Atlanta Falcons team has a completely different vibe, a vibe of winners that chose to never quit when the game seems out of reach. Teams from the last few years would have given up down 20-10 late in the 3rd Quarter with their opponent on the Falcons’ 8 yard line, poised for another touchdown strike.

With Kroy Biermann‘s strip sack of Eli Manning in the red zone, the Atlanta Falcons were able to overcome a ten point deficit in the fourth quarter and rattle of 14 unanswered points to steal one in the Meadowlands. The last time Atlanta overcame a 10 point deficit in the 4th Quarter, it was during the Ronald Reagan Administration (1983). Was Dave Archer our quarterback then or was Steve Bartkowski still the man under center for the Atlanta Falcons?

Without further ado, let’s once again attempt to power ranking the National Football Conference entering Week 3. Admittedly, it’s a little murky at the moment. Hopefully this week’s slate of games provides much-needed clarity to the NFL landscape.
