Atlanta Falcons Fly to Big D for Date with Dallas
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Falcons (2-0) will meet another undefeated team in the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon at AT&T Stadium for a 1PM ET kickoff in Jerry World.
The Dan Quinn Era in Flowery Branch is off to a wonderful start. His Atlanta Falcons have overcome two fourth quarter deficits to start the 2015 NFL Season at 2-0. Atlanta enters Week 3 as a rare, slight road favorite in this game with the defending NFC East Champions.

Dallas will be without QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant in this game. Missing two of Dallas’ best offensive weapons hurts the Cowboys in the spread, as it now favors the Atlanta Falcons by 1.5 points. Fortunately for the Cowboys, it seems that TE Jason Witten, whose lower extremities were almost all sprained, is probable for this Week 3 matchup.

Though Dallas will have to go with QB Brandon Weeden, Dallas has three things going for them even with a new man under center in Big D: Dallas has the best offensive line in football, the have one of the best kickers in the NFL in Dan Bailey, and their defense is playing at a Top 5 level in the first two weeks of the season.
So what does this mean for the Atlanta Falcons? Will they have to change their game plan against the Dallas Cowboys in this one? They’re not going to. Atlanta still needs to feel like the underdog in this game, as winning in Arlington most of the time is a tall order. Expect the Falcons to play their new brand of fast and physical football for Dan Quinn this afternoon.

Where this game will come down to is in the front sevens of both teams. Can the revamped front seven of the Atlanta Falcons slow down the three-headed rushing attack of the Cowboys and make Weeden complete tough passes? Will Devonta Freeman carry the round soundly enough for the Atlanta Falcons to have balance on offense?
I don’t think this will be a high scoring game. Atlanta will have trouble rushing the football and Dallas won’t look too great on third and long pass situations, so expect a ton of punts in this one. Both Dan Bailey and Matt Bryant will make 50 yard field goals.
Once again, this comes down to turnover differential. I trust QB Matt Ryan‘s ball security more than Brandon Weeden’s. Atlanta will win the turnover margin by two in this contest. The Atlanta Falcons will hold the lead for most of the game, but Dallas will make it a one-possession game.
Prediction: Atlanta Falcons 24, Dallas Cowboys 20.
