The Offensive Line Is Improving
The Atlanta Falcons have found five guys that click on the offensive line: Jake Matthews at left tackle, Andy Levitre at left guard, Mike Person at center, Chris Chester at right guard, and Ryan Schraeder at right tackle.
With every snap this unit is developing stronger continuity and the offense is improving. The front five outplayed Dallas’ in this game. That’s saying something since the Cowboys’ offensive line is arguably the best in football.

The tackles have been on point for the most part since preseason. Matthews is growing into a franchise left tackle and Schraeder is becoming one of the best on the right side. Where Atlanta had to figure some things out was in the interior. Chris Chester has been solid since arriving during OTA’s, but LG and C were lingering concerns for OL Coach Chris Morgan and OC Kyle Shanahan.
The Atlanta Falcons decided to cut Joe Hawley in favor of Mike Person at center and traded for G Andy Levitre from the Tennessee Titans for two future, late-round draft selections. Since Levitre’s arrival in Flowery Branch, the unit has improved exponentially in each game.
Now that the offensive line is no longer porous and is developing cohesiveness, watch Matt Ryan thrive in the pocket and the RB tandem of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman shine this fall for your Atlanta Falcons.
