Atlanta Falcons: 5 Things Learned vs. Washington

Jacob Tamme Is a Reliable, Pass Catching TE
After missing Week 4 due to concussion protocol, veteran TE Jacob Tamme had a great receiving game for the Atlanta Falcons. He led the team in both receptions (8) and receiving yards (94).
Tamme has been the number two tight end for Peyton Manning the last several years, both with the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. He came to Atlanta partly because he believes that Matt Ryan has a similar skill set that Peyton Manning had in his early 30’s.

Atlanta lost nearly all production from the tight end position last season, the first year after Tony Gonzalez‘s retirement. Levine Toilolo was not ready to take to starting job and former OC Dirk Koetter abandoned the passing game to his tight ends after multiple Toilolo drops on third down in 2014.
Jacob Tamme already has more receiving yards in 2015 (198) than he had all of 2014 (109) and 2013 (184). In his first year in Atlanta, he might actually have his best season as a pro since he is the starting tight end for the Atlanta Falcons. Seeing him make plays in the middle of the field with great hands and agility makes me feel good about our tight ends’ productivity going forward.
